FLUX MINI

The Flux Mini is designed to fit within the Flux family line. It’s lightweight and ergonomic design allow PMU artists to easily perform detailed work either on a clients eyebrows or lips. The Flux Mini serves the industry-wide need for a balanced, wireless device with the capabilities of earlier models without compromises. The machine features a 3.0mm stroke that can consistently pack pigment into the skin. It carefully penetrates the Dermis layer of the skin and is forgiving enough to as not leave long term scaring. The machine is best paired with vibrant pigments that bring out the natural beauty in all of us.
The main focus of my role was to design  the wireless battery pack and provide digital assets to the in house marketing department. The product is currently in production and is for sale on Microbeau's website here.
Role: Industrial Design, 3D Art
A Compact Solution For the Flux Line
The FLUX S can trace its roots back to the tattoo industry. Primarily designed to endure long sessions on different parts of the body. Becasue of its more powerful product offering, this machine lead to long term problems for artists that resulted in poor hand health. There was a need for a permanent makeup machine that was better suited for the delicate work of tattooing lips and brows. The machine needed to be lightweight so that the artist could use it while hovering over a client's face.
Making It All Come Together
Ideation focused around fitting the exterior form to the given PCB and battery pack. A sleeve was designed to house the package together and align the USB-C to be flush with the top surface. The membrane allows artists to increase or decrease the intensity of the motor so the buttons needs to be water resistant so that the artist may wipe it clean after every use. 3D printing allowed me to quickly go through iterations on the exterior form. I wanted a seamless design that transitioned with the body and grip of the machine.
